THE BEST SKATE PLATEThe following is Bill Butler's [BB] response to a reader question. Q. My question is about quad plates. As an intermediate skater ... I’m looking for some GREAT quality quad plates. I have narrowed it down to three company’s: (1) Sure Grip Classic plates. (2) Snyder Super deluxe plates, and (3) Roll Line Navigators. In your opinion which of the three is best. I’m into dance/freestyle. Thanks. BB. I don’t know about Roll Line but I can speak for Snyder and Sure Grip. You should get the Snyder dance plate, not the Imperial - do not get the Imperial dance plate, there’s a difference. The pivot pin in the front is straight down on the Imperial. You should get the pin that’s diagonal. The diagonal pin is less apt to break and it’s a more durable plate. It’s different material and it’s lighter, that’s why, in my estimation, Snyder is the best. It’s a much lighter plate and the design is superior. Sure Grip is okay - they’re both good plates but the Snyder is made better Do you have a specific question on the above information or the Jammin technique? Ask Bill |
